Last week, my esteemed Editor Jenny and I spent two days hunting for Treasures, both for you lovely lot and for my home here at Pinks Barn in the Cotswolds. Jenny and I have such similar taste and love playing house when there is time to do it and my budget allows. Jenny is at present a flat dweller and I think she encourages me as she has not got the room for all this stuff!
I am on a bit of a mission to sort out a problem area in the courtyard (you will see what happens very shortly) and I wanted to refresh various areas in the house. I collected Jenny from Bath and our first stop was along the London Road in Bath, where we browsed in the very eccentric Gardenalia and I bought a wire chicken and some plants.
Next up was Gabriela Knight who has a glorious barn filled with painted furniture, cushions and other treasures just 15 minutes outside Bath. My window seat was the beneficiary of this visit with a new rug and some more cushions! During lockdown, I had made two bolster cushions from a very tired and damaged crewel work picture and the two kilim-style cushions have joined them.
Out for lunch to the Thyme Estate in Southrop near Fairford (more about this in another Jotting) and then finally to Cotswold Reclamation for a couple of hours of complete heaven.
Give me a few weeks and I will be able to show you what has been going on here at the house. I’m all fired up to tackle that problem bit of the garden!
