Amy Butcher’s Leaping Hare
A stitched treasure hand made by Amy Butcher using such clever techniques. She combines printed fabrics with surface embroidery, appliqué, beads and sequins with such an eye for detail. Her leaping hare is created with hand-dyed materials and the foreground of spiky plants is a joy.
This is a complete picture, a one off and cannot be repeated. The image unframed measures 6.75in (17cm) square. Supplied framed in faux oak with a card mount and measures 10in (25.5cm) square.

The story of this little treasure
I met the very talented Amy Butcher when she was exhibiting at the Knitting & Stitching Show in Harrogate a number of years ago. I thought that her embroideries were simply exquisite, and I wanted to buy them all! Amy is a true artist as you will see by the kind faces on her creatures. She uses different fabrics, lace, beads and sequins in such an effective way combining them with different free embroidery stitches and surely creates a treasure every time.
I am glad to say that Amy is now making lovely kits of some of her garden embroideries. You must have a look at her website where you will also see her cushion panels and also a glorious range of gift cards. I am offering three finished pieces of Amy’s work which are supplied framed and glazed with a card mount.
