Bone & Navy Painted Glass Scissor String

Made from beads made of bovine bone and some decorative coloured stones, this is very effective and goes beautifully with the blue painted scissors. This time I have used a silver-plated lobster claw clasp to hold the scissors.

String, without scissors, measures 6.5 in (16.5cm).

This scissor string is a great favourite of mine – I have made myself a necklace with the round blue and cream discs as it looks so good with denim.

I make all my scissor strings from recycled necklaces and bracelets. I have a penchant for big jewellery (a lady of my dimensions must consider scale!), so I do tend to buy things in my colour palette and then they head for my bead box when I get tired of them. There is nothing quite as satisfying as making these treasures and sourcing pretty scissors to suit them. I have real pearl earrings and necklaces that are my staples, but after that anything goes!
