Bundle of Love – Natural Washed Collection

4 in stock

This is my first selection of Cashel linen fat quarters*, specially selected from Zweigart and Sawitski’s range of beautiful fabrics. I have chosen for you the colours I love to use and always have on the shelves in my workroom – you will always be able to use every scrap of these fabrics, but they are precious, so remember to measure twice and cut once!

The perfect background for counted stitching, Cashel linen is woven with 28 threads to the inch (making the stitches the same size as on 14-count Aida fabric). Your pack contains four fat quarters in the following colours:

  • Raw unbleached
  • Ivory
  • Cream
  • Light stone

Each bundle also includes a ‘Treasure Scrap’ of linen with some sample stitches still attached to one of my gold-plated needles – if you have never stitched on linen before, you have no excuse for not picking up a needle!

* For the uninitiated, a fat quarter is a very clever way of buying costly fabrics and avoiding waste or strange fabric shapes. Each fat quarter in the bundle is 50cm one way and 70cm the other – this is because I have divided a metre of linen (140cm wide) in to four useful pieces rather than just linear strips. Should you want to buy Cashel linen in different sizes or even by the metre go to The Cross Stitch Guild who will be glad to help.

The story of this little treasure

My love of linen is such that I have dedicated a whole area of this site to it. I hope you feel the way I do. Over the past 30 years I have stitched on an enormous range of fabrics, both on linen in a variety of thread counts and on easy-care evenweaves and Aida fabrics. But linen is my love. I have travelled much in the past 20-odd years and been fortunate to visit linen factories and mills and nothing has changed my opinion. It is a wonderful fabric on which to stitch and I would really like you to share this pleasure.
