Going back to the days – or should I say nights – when I was a Night Sister at Brighton General, I collected vintage bags and purses. I still have a few which I have now had for over 40 years. Work meant that I needed to sleep during the day, but I would treat myself to an outing once or twice a week. This often led me to the antique markets in the Old Town. Last month my esteemed Editor and I spent a lovely day in the Lanes in Brighton but things had changed quite a bit since my time there. The Lanes were filled with diamond jewellery shops, I am afraid all the antiquey places are long gone.
