Hardanger & Flower Embroidered Book

This beautiful A6 book has been hand crafted for me by Kate Bowles and is unique. The stitched spine and half cover was originally created as a class for Cross Stitch Guild students to refine their Hardanger embroidery skills. The stitching includes cross stitch, French knots, Kloster blocks, needleweaving and a few tiny glass beads. The design is worked on linen in stranded cottons (floss) and Oliver Twists hand-painted threads.

Kate has used a glorious assortment of papers and envelopes to create a really useful day book or notebook. The book is supplied tissue wrapped and boxed and is a special one off! The book measures 4.5 x 6in (11 x15cm).

Kate Bowles makes these exquisite books from pieces of my counted embroideries, some of which are over 30 years old. I have designed quite literally thousands of cross stitch pieces since I started my business in 1983 and there are only so many that I can house. It is wonderful to see them being given a new life. Every time Kate makes me a book it is unique and cannot be repeated. I will confess that I find it hard to part with them.
