Painted lady’s shoe pincushion & thimble holder

Early 20th century treasure in beautiful condition. The exquisite hand painting is worked on a silk ground and is deliciously detailed. I have replaced a very tired ribbon with a soft vintage silk one in just the right green and added a very good vintage thimble.

Supplied boxed with three pearl-headed pins.

The shoe measures 5 x 2in (12.5 x 5cm) from heel to dainty toe.

When I am on my way back from working on the Sewing Street TV channel, my car seems to find its way to Broadway and the lovely shop, Betty & Violet. I called in to see owner Ali Hocking and left an hour later with two carrier bags! This shoe was calling to me when I arrived at the shop and was my first purchase that day.
