Madras Lace & Whitework Workbox Weight with Counting Pin

Out of stock

I have used pieces of white-on-white embroidery and some Madras lace to create this useful Workbox Weight. With the combination of embroidered linen, Madras work and silk ribbon, this could be used as pincushion, needle stand or even a wedding ring pillow. It is backed with a piece of washed vintage French linen, and I have added a hand-crafted silver counting pin and some little shell buttons to the front of each weight so that you can attach a pair of scissors.

I have filled the sachet with dry rice and preserved lavender –  the rice will prevent any moisture from damaging the finish on your pins. (You do hold pins in your lips, surely?) It is supplied boxed, wrapped in tissue with three pearl-headed pins.

This little Workbox Weight measures 4in (10cm) square.

The story of this little treasure

I have talked at length about loving pincushions and, in my opinion, you can never have too many. I do not think there is anything nicer than a basket of small stitched pincushions and other bits of stitchy stuff. Almost too pretty to use!
