Mini Embroidered Workbox Weight with Uzbek Scissors

I have been busy with the very last pieces of my Indian embroidery bought during our visit to that fabulous country before the pandemic.

The embroidery is worked in cotton and silk and is embellished with shisha mirrors. I have made the back out of strong linen so that you can use the back to add pins and needles. The steel scissors are inspired by the male stork as you can see by his head feathers and are fiendishly sharp. The bird shape is beautifully balanced in your hand and very pointy!

The workbox weight measures 4.75 x 2.5in (12 x 6.5cm). The scissors measure 4.5in (11.5cm) Both will be supplied wrapped in tissue and boxed.

I have recently been to Uzbekistan where, whilst wandering the streets of Bukhara, I discovered the town had a name for the work of its blacksmiths. I could not believe the unusual stork scissors that were on show and could not resist buying you some. They are rather different to those we have in the UK.
