Needles Prayse Band Sampler Embroidered Book

This book has been hand crafted for me by Kate Bowles and is a one-off. The stitched spine includes two of my favourite bands that I included on my ‘Needles Prayse Band Sampler’. This was inspired and designed over 20 years ago and was a real labour of love. It is stitched on unbleached linen using stranded cotton (floss) and worked in counted cross stitch. Kate has used a glorious assortment of papers and envelopes to create a really useful day book or notebook. The book is supplied tissue wrapped and boxed and is a special one off! The book measures 4.5 x 6in (11 x15cm).

I met this extraordinary book maker, Kate Bowles whilst attending the Knitting & Stitching Show in Harrogate when she was buying some of the linen band we had on display. We got chatting and I don’t think I have stopped pestering her to make me things since! Kate makes some of the loveliest things for me including the wax raspberries, the Catherine Archer needlebook and even the tiny book for the ‘Sweete’ bag. Such talent!
