A big decision in the garden

I have bitten the bullet and employed the services of a wonderful team of tree surgeons.

The time has come for change in my garden. During some of the high winds, and with the drought during the summer, I have lost my laburnum tree planted the year we moved into Pinks Barn. It just keeled over. And the self-seeded cherry tree overhanging the greenhouse was causing some concern.

I have bitten the bullet and employed the services of the wonderful Lewis Dalton-Filsell (Arboreal Tree Care) and his team of tree surgeons. They have changed my life! In only a day, the ancient apple tree has gone, the laburnum, cherry tree and a baby sycamore are now stacked as logs, the perfect size for our wood burners. The garden is so light and airy, and I have quite different views from the house. I will, of course, be planting some small fruit trees (a greengage definitely) and I can’t wait to get cracking.

Back in the saddle

Back in the saddle

Everyone falls off their horse, and the injuries vary but at my age I think that gardening is quite dangerous enough.
