A visit for my birthday

After having to curtail the treats for my 70th birthday last year, I was determined to do something special this time around. Bill came up with the perfect treat – we went away for one night (quite legally) and then went off to an open day at Perch Hill where Sarah Raven has her cutting garden and so much more. It was a perfect day! The weather was simply beautiful – not a cloud in the sky – and Sarah had the garden looking marvellous and Covid safe. Sarah is very clever with what she grows with what and is so inspirational I needed to get home and do more at Pinks Barn.

This time we were there to see the tulips and look at some of her colour combinations – I think my favourite is the Venetian Collection. We wandered around the gardens following the planned route and ended up in a big tent with tea and cake. I did spend time in the shop but this time I only bought books. Sarah signed her latest for me and even said sorry for making spend too much money with her! Her new title A-year-full-of-flowers is my current bedtime reading…
