I have been teased by many of you when we meet at shows or other events that I do like to travel, and we are hardly ever at home! I am not going to apologise, but it is true that we love to travel. I have mentioned before that Bill did not have a passport when we met 47 years ago but when he got one, there was no stopping him.
In two of my previous Jottings, I have described our Canadian trips, but these were to the West coast of this fabulous country. This time Bill wanted a road trip, so we flew to the other side of the continent and started our adventure in Toronto where we spent a couple of days walking the streets and using the Hop-on-and-Hop-off Buses. I can remember as a young woman rather sneering at these ‘tourist buses’ but wisdom does prevail eventually and they are, of course, the ideal solution if time is of the essence. We had a two-day ticket, did the circular tour once and then used it as a free service taking us to the hot spots we had highlighted.
Next we picked up our car and started our 3522 kilometre road trip which included Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec, Price Edward Island, Nova Scotia and then home from Halifax. We used the buses in each city and then found our way around the cities on foot, by tram and even once by taxi.
I could write book about the trip, but I am saving some of the stories for another time.
