Golden Flower Scissor Stand & Needleroll

This is my nod to all that sparkles in India. That includes the fabrics, the saris, the colours and the people! I could not resist this ribbon as I had a supply of vintage bobbins with green or red tinges to tie in perfectly with the ribbon colours. This is a woven or brocade ribbon. I have lined it in wool felt so that you can keep your gold needles safe and attached a pair of lion’s tail scissors with a matching twisted cord.

The Scissor Stand and Needleroll is supplied boxed with the lion’s tail scissors, some pearl pins and three gold-plated needles. The cotton reel measures 3.5in tall (9cm) and 2in (5cm) across the top.

Another of my treasures bought in India from Mr AR Mullick who was an elderly gentleman with a little white beard and told me when I walked in that he “only deals in wholesale customers”. It meant that I had to buy the ribbons by the roll not by the metre. Strangely, this was no hardship…
