Luxury Dragonfly & Hardanger Needle Fold

Like so many of the late Jane Herbert’s finished treasures this project began life as a linen class here at Pinks Barn. Worked like a mini band sampler and the made up with a self-lined linen section, this makes a perfect home for your gold-plated needles.

The design was stitched on pure linen eyelet band and includes a verity of counted stitches including a fabulous Hardanger heart worked in hand painted cotton Perle. The other stitches included were detached buttonhole, satin stitch woven bars, bullion knots and French knots.

The Needle fold is closed with an eyelet ribbon and a pewter acorn charm. It measures 4 x 2.5in (10 x 6.5cm) when folded and is supplied with three-gold plated needles and comes gift boxed.

Dragonfly motifs are a real favourite of mine and have featured in my designs more than a few times over the years. I am lucky enough to have the real thing visit my garden. I have photos to share here.
