The Secret Inheritance Necessaire

Each necessaire has been hand-crafted in my linen and cotton fabric and acts as just the perfect little tool kit for you to take to stitching events or just have next to you on your work table. Folded, it measures 5 x 4in (12.5 x 10cm) and inside it has a pocket filled with a Rosebud ruler (made from upcycled piano keys) and three faux-ivory tools. The pocket has divisions, so your tools stay where you put them and there is room for you add scissors or other favourite things.

These tools include a stitch catcher, laying took and a stitch reverser with the handles modelled on a Victorian teaspoon! On the outside of the folded necessaire, there is a linen needle band poised for your best gold needles.

For all the background to my printed fabrics you will need time to read about my casket but suffice to say this project has spawned all sorts of loved stitchers treats.

Almost as a second thought, I had some fabrics printed to echo the designs on my casket – then all I had to do was think of things to use the fabrics!
