The Secret Inheritance Treasure Box
The casket project has been a personal adventure but, as usual, I was soon thinking of ways I could share it with fellow stitchers! One of my favourite parts of the casket is the little tray that nestles inside the lid. This lifts out to make a very practical container for the most of the essential bits and bobs needed when stitching and will sit happily on a table or the arm of a chair. I asked my carpenter if he could recreate the tray – and he has!
Nigel has made a limited number of trays for you to buy. Of course, an empty tray is a bit of a sad sight, so I have filled it full of delicious accessories for you to enjoy. I have christened it The Secret Inheritance Treasure Box!
Each handmade wooden tray contains:
- Secret Inheritance Necessaire in exclusive JG fabric (including faux ivory ruler, stitch catcher, laying tool and stitch reverser)
- Secret Inheritance Needlekeep Book crafted by bookbinder Kate Bowles
- Handmade raspberry waxer from Kate Bowles
- Hand crafted glass counting pin from Carole Hughes
- Strawberry pincushion mini kit
- Three faux ivory thread winders

The story of this little treasure
If you take a look at the story of my casket, you will see how the inspiration came about for this little tray. I simply couldn’t stop myself designing lots of lovely little accessories to go inside. I have also enjoyed commissioning some of my favourite makers, like bookbinder Kate Bowles and glass maker Carol Hughes, to create some of the treasures to go in the tray. As you can imagine, it is rather a limited edition!
