My Little Book of Indigo

Yet another one of my stitched books worked by the late Jane Herbert but this time she has made some more personal changes, which I love. The book cover is linen and a piece of blue and white printed cotton, and the little appliqué heart is in a piece of her denim. The internal pages include Hardanger embroidery, coloured blackwork flowers, Holbein stitch and hemstitch.

As with all Jane’s finished pieces, her stitching is of the highest standard and I am so sorry that I did not see many of her finished pieces until after she passed away. She kept it all under wraps until her son’s explored her home in Cheltenham.
