New Designs for Embroideries (Faudel Phillips & Sons)
Having mentioned Berlin woolwork charts, this little book is certainly a treasure for a stitcher. Although the charts are tiny, they are printed in colour, and they can be enlarged very successfully on a copier. (I know because I have tried!)
The little book measures 4.5 x 3in (10 x 7.7cm). I will supply this wrapped and boxed with one gold-plated needle.

The story of this little treasure
This is another of my treasure finds after attending an auction last month – and I am going to let you have it! I dare not allow my workroom to take over another bedroom and it looks likely if I don’t share some of my finds.
The V&A has a small collection of material produced or imported by merchants Faudel Phillips & Sons, all from the period 1895 and 1904. These include printed books, beadwork and even cotton threads.
