A Token of Love Notebook
This design was created to be the project for stitchers joining me at Ackworth School for a linen class and the motifs that have been included are all taken from the collection of Quaker samplers owned by the school.
Many of you will be familiar with Quaker samplers, not least because I have talked about them many times before! The book cover is worked on unbleached Cashel linen in stranded cottons (floss) and is made up by hand The Quaker book slipcover is supplied with a notebook in squared paper ready for your designs and notes. It measures 4 x 6in (10 x 15cm) when closed and is supplied boxed with a small Quaker design charted for just for you.

The story of this little treasure
The CSG has permission to reproduce designs from the extraordinary collection of early samplers housed at Ackworth School near Pontefract Yorkshire and I have visited the school on a number of occasions to examine and study these works of art. When you have a chance, have a look at the CSG site where some of our Ackworth inspired projects can be seen. One of the distinctive elements of the samplers are the medallion shapes repeated on many samplers, the origin of which is uncertain.
